INTERNSHIP LENGTHS
Internship lengths vary depending on candidates and their objectives or academic requirements. The minimum length is 6 weeks, and the maximum length is 26 weeks. To view currently available vacancies, please visit our Vacancy Explorer.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the professional career guidance and counselling & internship program candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Aged 18-30
- The target program is directly related to your educational background
- Currently enrolled in a tertiary course, or
- A recent graduate within 24 months of course completion
- English language skills: Equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or above
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Enquiry and Assessment: Complete the online form and check your eligibility for the program. Qualified candidates will be sent an application form.
- Application & Processing: Return the completed application form along with the supporting documentation and the AU$500 application fee. You will then provide us with an application video after which First Job Australia will negotiate your career guidance and counselling & internship program details.
- Confirmation & Payment First Job Australia will arrange an interview for you with the Host Organisation after which the career guidance and counselling & internship program will be confirmed through a formal Training Agreement. Any outstanding fees to be paid.
- Visa & Travel Arrangements First Job Australia to negotiate with The Department of Immigration regarding visa processing for you which will take between 4-6 weeks. Or, you can make alternative arrangements (e.g. Working Holiday Visa). You are to confirm with First Job Australia your arrival details.
- Program Participation Congratulations! You are about to embark on an incredible journey. An orientation will be organized when you arrive in Australia. Once you begin your program we will be asking for your continued feedback and continue to support you.
- You will have a contact at First Job Australia that will help you through every step of this process.
